JavaScript is everywhere

And we're all over it.

JavaScript has come a long way since the days of prototype.js and scriptaculous… and so have we! It feels like JavaScript has always been part of our toolbox (and everyone else's) but it wasn't until the explosion of Single Page Apps that we really dove in head-first. These days, JS has expanded beyond its simple client-side scripting roots to stand in as one of the most versatile and universally-adopted technologies in the industry.

For years, ECMAScript was so interwoven into our stack and our day-to-day activities, it seemed to go without saying that we were knee-deep in both the code and the community. JavaScript has been always been there, and if one thing's for sure, it's here to stay!

One thing led to another, and we started to hear from startups and developers alike who were looking for Rails/React hybrid roles, React Native mobile opportunities, front end JS positions, and Node.js openings. JavaScript is ubiquitous - it's on almost 90% of web apps, not to mention its pervasive presence across mobile, gaming, web, and even desktop apps. In a lot of ways, we didn't choose JavaScript; JS chose us :)

As always, we bring to the table our deep background as JavaScript developers, allowing us to connect more authentically with startups and developers in the community. As languages like JavaScript open doors to more versatile technical challenges, our developer-roots are more important than ever. JavaScript is everywhere, and we're excited to help you navigate all that's out there!

Connections Welcome

It feels like we've been using Javascript on some of our projects since… well, since before we were even Rails devs! Our background as developers helps us connect you with opportunities that include Node, Angular, React, Electron, and whatever comes next.

Our Javascript team is dedicated to connecting you with the best startups that match your interests.

I'd enjoy briefly chatting with you about where you are in your career, and what you're thinking about for next steps. Even if you're not currently looking, I'd be happy to share what we're seeing in the market for opportunities and compensation so that you'll be able to adjust your goals and efforts moving forward.

Let's chat!

Recruiters tend to treat developers as a commodity; they're about packaging us for what best suits their ends rather than our needs. Brian shatters this mold. Not only is he well versed in the specifics of Rails that are important to both you and the companies looking for developers, but he's only after what suits everyone. When we first spoke, he asked me to give him a week, and before the week was out I was interviewing with half a dozen companies that met my exact requirements 1500 miles away from me. When the process came to fruition, it was a win/win for both myself and my current employer.'

I've worked with Mirror and Brian Mariani since 2007, I consider him an agent of grace and respectability - he has made a difference in my livelihood. I love Mirror for the courtesy and quality interactions that we've had - not to mention the smoothness and speed. I don't expect a guaranteed job with Mirror - but I know can rely on great service and an excellent round of opportunity.

My previous dealings with headhunters haven't been good. They're very pushy and don't care much about the candidates or even their clients. Just about all of them don't even bother reading your resume or they're illiterate. Having said that, I found someone who is just the opposite of other recruiters I've dealt with. Funny thing is, I wasn't even looking that aggressively. Brian Mariani of Mirror is a pleasant surprise in a field that is filled with scums. He actually read my resume, saw my websites, and took his time to discuss potential opportunities with both his clients and me. He also listened, a rare trait in modern day recruiters. I highly recommend Mirror if you're a Rubyhead/Railshead and want to venture out. You'll be pleasantly surprised. If you're interested in hiring a Rubyhead, contact Brian.

Mirror Placement helped me find an exciting job working with fun, smart people. Using other job sites was like trying to drink from a fire hose, but Mirror made the process easier by matching me with high-quality positions.

When people ask me about recruiters, Mirror Placement is the only one I'm happy to recommend. They actually understand technology, don't do the hard sell, and are in it for the long haul. A true cut above the rest.

Mirror helped me land a role at Pivotal in 2010, and I have since referred many of our growing startup clients to them. I wholeheartedly recommend them!
