Although we're still in stealth mode, we can say this...Our mission is simple: help independent musicians make a living. Much is being done in online music distribution today, but we feel there's a lot left on the table in terms of generating new demand for artists. That's where we come in.

We're looking for entrepreneurial, hungry aces to join our team. You should be excited by solving challenging technical problems and be able to thrive in a fun, funky, fast-paced environment. Passion for music is a must and being an artist or working with them in some capacity is a plus.

You will be an integral part of the development team with direct input into the creation of our next generation artist services platform. You must be able to work both collaboratively and completely independently as well as interface across different development groups.

Front End Developer

• Serious knowledge and understanding of Javascript/AJAX
• Familiar with JSON and XML 
• CSS/DHTML/DOM Experience 
• Experience developing rich media, embeddable widgets 
• ActionScript 2 required, AS3 desired

Server Engineer - Ruby

• Significant experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Java and MVC frameworks
• Highly proficient in SQL, including complex queries/optimization 
• Able to design and implement RESTful web services 
• Experience in OOP/OOD, design patterns and UML 
• Experience with clusters, distributed systems and high volume data services 
• Familiarity with scrum/agile programming methodologies 
• Apache/Mongrel/MySQL/*nix stack and associated prowess
  

* Pluses:

• Experience with ecommerce and reporting applications
• Knowledge of various audio/video codecs and transcoding 
• Knowledge of encryption, digital signatures and certificates, SSL, and general internet security 
• Experience in manipulating transactional data from multiple sources to provide provide near-real-time, high-performance reporting 
• Experience with integrating 3rd party packages and b2b services, incorporating failsafe and recovery measures

I work at mirRoR, where we connect agile Rails developers and employers.

We started as Rails programmers ourselves (and are currently working on a few social, facebook, and iPhone apps). This background and network help us identify quality opportunities in the industry.

That’s especially important today. While many venture-backed web 2.0 startups are cutting costs amidst this economic climate, we are working with a number of companies that are self-sufficient, cash-positive, and well capitalized for the long-term.
