Turning Smartphones into Smartcameras
We are looking for a Software Engineer to become a key member of our team
We are a venture backed startup based in San Francisco. Our vision is to turn smartphones into smartcameras by leveraging location based technologies and the rapidly improving quality of camera phones. Using our iPhone app or website, our users create events, upload mobile photos, and create real-time event photo streams to share with users around them. Photos and events are public and can be followed live on the web or directly on mobile devices.
We received seed funding from DFJ and launched our first product in September (iPhone App) at TechCrunch 50. Since then, we have launched our web product and have continued to improve our core technology. We have received industry recognition by winning several accolades. Locally, we were presented with an Emerging Technology award from the San Jose Business Journal, and nationally, we were recognized as the Winner of the Mobile Apps Showdown at the 2010 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas.
We are a small and passionate team of five. Our office is located in San Francisco's Financial District. We are followers of the lean startup philosophy, and practice Agile Development. We are interested in meeting with people with expertise in Rails development and restful APIs to support mobile and web front-ends. This is a full-time position for a complete rockstar and includes compensation in the form of salary and equity.
About You
You are a super talented, self motivated engineer who is ready to join a fast growing startup. You are experienced in a wide variety of development environments. You have the skills necessary to work in a Rails Environment in support of a restful API consumed by web and mobile platforms. You have had the opportunity to apply your talent to real- world projects (perhaps for a larger company) and are ready for the unique opportunity that only a Silicon Valley startup can provide. You have the desire to be a part of a team where you can quickly become a key player and can help drive a product forward. You are excited by the prospect of using agile methods in the real world. Like us, you live for this stuff.
Next Steps
Send us an email (as well as a resume, link to a portfolio, blog, Stack Overflow profile, or whatever else might impress us), and we will respond with a questionnaire that will cover the standard generic interview questions. If it seems like there may be a good fit, we'll invite you out for Coffee, and get to know you a bit, talk about your technical qualifications, and if we both feel good about working together, invite you to interview with the rest of our team.

Hi, I’m Brian
I work at mirRoR, where we connect agile Rails developers and employers.
We started as Rails programmers ourselves (and are currently working on a few social, facebook, and iPhone apps). This background and network help us identify quality opportunities in the industry.
That’s especially important today. While many venture-backed web 2.0 startups are cutting costs amidst this economic climate, we are working with a number of companies that are self-sufficient, cash-positive, and well capitalized for the long-term.
I’d be eager to briefly discuss where you are in the process and see if there is a potential fit, either for the opportunities listed here, or those posted elsewhere.
