Organized Social Activism on RAILS

We are looking for a senior engineer to build a world-class dynamic Web application in Ruby, Javascript and HTML.

We are a passionate group of specialists building a platform for organized social activism on a small and large scale. We have an existing Web application and need your experience and creativity to take it to the next level.

We are based in Washington, D.C. and prefer local candidates -- but if you're really good and live elsewhere, we can make something work.

Successful candidates should have 5 or more years of experience building Web sites and have a strong general grasp of computer science fundamentals. Technical skills should include:

Ruby, JavaScript, CSS, Rails
Linux and/or Solaris admin and scripting skills
MySQL
Familiarity with Web and database scalability techniques

Above all, you must have a strong drive to master new technologies and a proven ability to learn as you go.
